Here is one based on the January 1 Sketch Challenge over at the Paper Secrets blog. They also threw a twist to the challenge, where you were required to use items beginning with the letters in PARTY. Here is my version:

P-Photo corners A-alphas R- rub-ons (Sweet, flowers, little birdie) T-twine Y-yellow

Paper was from CTMH Dotty For You collection, CTMH twine, rub-ons from CTMH Primavera, and buttons from my stash. The felt alphas used in cake are from American Crafts felt Thickers. Photo corners were hand cut from the Dotty for You paper, and the chevron zig zag was fussy cut from Dotty for You CTMH paper.

The LO was based on this sketch:

Almost July 1 and this is the first chance all summer I have had to scrap.

Love this sketch from Page Maps via the Paper Secrets June 15th challenge, found here. Jillibean Soup Papers were used, along with Later Sk8tr by CTMH.
Here's my take on it.

Until next time, which will hopefully be sooner than later! Thanks for looking.
I had a chance to sit down and peruse some of my favorite scrappy blogs. The Scrap Room blog had several sketches that I decided to play with. Here's one that was posted by TerryB and was taken from October Afternoon. TerryB is giving away a RAK, linking up by May 27.

Here's my take on the sketch:

And the sketch:

Used a kit from the May 2013 Scrap Room, with papers by Teresa Collins He Said/She Said. Had so much fun using the fun stickers and coordinating papers. Simple and easy.

Thanks for looking!

Red Carpet also has some other neat challenges coming up, so head on over and take a look!

My scrappy friend, Angela, and I had a chance to scrap together this weekend and I was able to complete a few challenges I've been oogling for awhile. I have long admired the work of the four "scrappy firends" and finally had some time to play along with their monthly challenges.

Two layouts completed fit three of the Scrappy Friends Challenges. Here is the first layout:

This layout was fun to do and honors the "Keep Calm and...." challenge. Thanks Angela for the title help! The challenge can be found here.

The second layout was also done with Angela's guidance. I just love how getting together with friends to scrap allows you to give each other technique tips and inspiration. In this case, Angela helped me with masking on the stamps (school zone and Back 2 School).

This layout attempts
to satisfy three challenges: the sketch challenge from Scrappin' Happy , the color combo challenge (blues, greens
and yellows) from Rochelle Spears., and the masking/stencil challenge from Kristi B.

All four challenges were met with two layouts. My goal is to someday combine all four challenges onto one layout. A big Thank You to all four ladies and can't wait to see what you came up with next month!

Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!Kayla Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15889370839232527994noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1520935409620049218.post-82590117011865270402013-01-07T17:55:00.002-08:002013-01-07T17:55:57.675-08:00Frosted Designs and Scrapbook Steals JADE #4 challenge<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Today I found this sketch challenge through Scrapbook Steals blog. Great products can be found at SS and thrilled to see the weekly sketches for inspiration. I am also entering this LO into the Frosted Designs challenge found here. These two challenges allowed me to kill a kit from TSR and use some items from my stash. Woohoo!

There are 5 golden (yellow) on this page, with the yellow chipboard buttons, yellow bling, and yellow paper on the bottom right. It has been awhile since I've seen the bottom of my desk. Two totally fun challenges! Loving the color combo challenge, which usually is hard for me to put together out from the stash. The SEI Kris Kringle line was perfect for the challenge. Tiny Dancer---Sketch Inspiration #346

Tiny Dancer (a.k.a. Macy) was adorable in her red and blue dance outfit for this year's recital. A bit of a challenge this year was figuring out a way to lengthen the tutu, which was too short to begin with. Miss Cheryl came to the rescue and added a piece of red ribbon to the middle and the show went on.

The flowers were made from ribbon in my stash and with the help of this tutorial here.
All the papers are JS, tag too, with the pins and flowers from CTMH. Thinking this counts as at least 75% of JS product!
I knew that I needed to just jump in and get started using some of the paper to make a layout. I used SI's #342 sketch for this page, and it came together quickly. I tried something that I have never done before-I has a kit from The ScrapRoom and the sketch, but had no pictures in mind. It was very liberating to use a kit that I've had since February and finish the layout within a couple hours. Would have been done sooner, but I had help from Macy and a pause to put the other two kiddos to bed. So pleased with how this turned out and the fact that I even found pictures that went well with the LO.

Here's the sketch:
So excited to find a site dedicated to boys (or men!) only. With one boy and two girls, I tend to scrap for the two girls more often than the boy. Who can blame me? The papers and girls "stuff" is just so pretty and fun to play with!

Had a great time using TSR September Kit and Basic Grey Clippings paper and embellies.
Isaac can be such a goober sometimes, especially if it will get a laugh from one of his two sisters. This day he decided to try on Kiera's tiara, making her stare at him and wonder what he was doing. Most of the time he can get a laugh, but not this time!

It was a productive day, with good company, great food, scrapping, and best of all, a much needed rain shower that lasted most of the day. Who doesn't love scrapping indoors when it is raining? Here is one layout completed, using Echo Park Happy Days collection. This paper line truly is happy, with the fun colors, patterns, and embellies that coordinate so nicely together. Love Echo Park!
Deadlines, time limits, and procrastination are all things that motivate me to complete a LO here and there. I had one hour during naptime yesterday to throw this page together, based on the weekly sketch over at Sketch Inspiration. I am also entering this into Paper Secrets August Word Challenge: Sweet. SI is an awesome weekly sketch challenge site, and definitely worth more of my time. When the time fairy comes to visit me, this is one of the first on my list...Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:
Crate Paper Story Teller Legend, Chapeter, and Trademard were used for pp. The tag is a hidden journaling, with the additional journaling strips from MME Lime Twist line. Thanks for looking, and as always, comments are appreciated.
Kayla Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15889370839232527994noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1520935409620049218.post-68354306693410170222012-07-22T18:48:00.000-07:002012-07-22T18:48:25.017-07:00Mojo Monday #250 Thinking of You CardIt seems like cards are the only thing I have time for these days, but in reality there really is time. It's just a matter of not getting interupted or distracted by the three little ones, tv shows, or a little bit or work on the computer. I did take some time out to create this card, and even replicated it two more times with a different sentiment each time.
This week there is a fabulous sketch that was simple and easy enough for the task at hand. The sketch was used to make a Get Well card. I was able to do this during nap time for the baby, and had my daughter's help to boot! Love it when everyone is entertained during these hot summer days!
Although it is winter, and there hasn't been a lot of snow around these parts, it was still nice to do a summer layout. I don't think I'm ready for summer to be back, but it was fun remembering all the summer fun we had. Maybe this will bring snow our way, and enough to bring a snow day!

Here's my version of #303:

With all the CHA Sneak Peeks out there, one can spend a lot of time browsing and shopping! As a self diagnosed paper hoarder, there are so many new and exciting scrap items to see. I found this give away happening right now at Scrap with Suzy on her blog. Check it out, as she's giving away a chance to win a $15 gift certificate to a scrap store of your choice!Kayla Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15889370839232527994noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1520935409620049218.post-16844764156902527792012-01-07T20:30:00.000-08:002012-01-07T20:30:04.587-08:00Daddy's GirlIt's a new year, and with that comes New Year's Resolutions. Instead of making a New Year's Resolution, I've decided to make some goals. These are so much more acheivable, don't you think? Creating one scrapbook page a week is one of my goals for 2012. If a week is a busy one, pages can easily be made up the next week or weekend. And, heaven knows I have a ton of supplies to use up from my stash. I've put my goal out there on this blog, so there's no escaping!!

Here's the first layout of the year created with Sketch Inspiration's first sketch of the year, #301. Check them out if you haven't-the sketches are exactly what the name implies-great inspiration! Kiera is now 10 months old, and the time is going quickly. She's getting so big. Love how this one turned out, especially since Scott is always the one taking the pictures and not ususally in the pictures.

Hoping you have a fantastic year with lots of happiness and achievments!Kayla Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15889370839232527994noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1520935409620049218.post-70323799948670914342011-12-11T14:10:00.000-08:002011-12-11T14:10:47.504-08:00Mojo Monday Birthday CardMacy's little friend was having a birthday party this weekend, so the two of us went onto the Mojo Monday Blog for some inspiration making the birthday card. Macy picked out the paper and the stamping she wanted on the card. With me as her personal cutter, and her gluing expertise, this is what she came up with. I thought it turned out pretty cute, don't you?
It's been awhile since I have even had a chance to scrap, let alone post anything on the blog. This week's Sketch Inspiration was too good to pass up though. Really simple, and it used more than one picture, which I appreciate. Here is the Hoops layout of Isaac last year during Basketball Rec League.
The paper and embellies I used all came from Paper Dreams, my friend's local scrapbook store. The sketches are probably my favorite, but the blog, forum, and store always have something fun going on, whether it's a challenge or a random give away. Right now, they are having an October Sketch It to Win It Challenge, with a different sketch posted daily October 3-31. Prizes and contests gallore, so be sure to play along! For now, this will just have to do. I was able to get a few more pages done today with the assistance of my two helpers, Macy and Kiera. Well, OK, the baby didn't reaaly "help," but she did nap quite a bit while Macy and I scrapped and worked at the store Paper Dreams. I used the Lime Rickety line; there are too many yummy embellishments and papers to count. I love them all though. :0) I even did some misting with a chipboard to create the bracket. Think I will have to try this technique again, especially with a less busy background.Kayla Whttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15889370839232527994noreply@blogger.com1
