Sketch Inspiration #346

Tiny Dancer---Sketch Inspiration #346

Tiny Dancer (a.k.a. Macy) was adorable in her red and blue dance outfit for this year's recital. A bit of a challenge this year was figuring out a way to lengthen the tutu, which was too short to begin with. Miss Cheryl came to the rescue and added a piece of red ribbon to the middle and the show went on.

The flowers were made from ribbon in my stash and with the help of this tutorial here.

Paper Secrets Oct 15 Sketch Challenge

Had a chance to complete this challenge at last weekend's crop. Loving this sketch and as a bonus, had these Jillibean Soup papers to use for a bonus challenge entry.

JS Hearty Barley canola oil and fresh mushroom papers

And here's the sketch from Paper Secrets:

All the papers are JS, tag too, with the pins and flowers from CTMH. Thinking this counts as at least 75% of JS product!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time--

Sketch Inspiration #342 Summer Delight

The paper in the downstairs scrap closet is piling up! I knew that I needed to just jump in and get started using some of the paper to make a layout. I used SI's #342 sketch for this page, and it came together quickly. I tried something that I have never done before-I has a kit from The ScrapRoom and the sketch, but had no pictures in mind. It was very liberating to use a kit that I've had since February and finish the layout within a couple hours. Would have been done sooner, but I had help from Macy and a pause to put the other two kiddos to bed.  So pleased with how this turned out and the fact that I even found pictures that went well with the LO.

Here's the sketch:

And here is the page:

WRMK Good Day Sunshine pps, CTMH rub-on (delight and small flowers), tag & flower circle cut from Art Philosophy cartridge, flowers from stash, WRMK metal flowers

Thanks for looking! Until next time...

MOB-New Monthly Kit and Sketch

While checking in with Paper Secrets and Rochelle Spears blog, I stumbled upon a new site called MOB, Mother of Boys. So excited to find a site dedicated to boys (or men!) only. With one boy and two girls, I tend to scrap for the two girls more often than the boy. Who can blame me? The papers and girls "stuff" is just so pretty and fun to play with!

Had a great time using TSR September Kit and Basic Grey Clippings paper and embellies.

MOB Sept Sketch
Check out this great sketch (above) and my take on it.

Isaac can be such a goober sometimes, especially if it will get a laugh from one of his two sisters. This day he decided to try on Kiera's tiara, making her stare at him and wonder what he was doing. Most of the time he can get a laugh, but not this time!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a fabulous weekend!

How Sweet It IsTo Be Loved By You-Father's Day 2011

This last weekend was spent at a crop hosted by friend Anita. It was a productive day, with good company, great food, scrapping,  and best of all, a much needed rain shower that lasted most of the day. Who doesn't love scrapping indoors when it is raining?  Here is one layout completed, using Echo Park Happy Days collection. This paper line truly is happy, with the fun colors, patterns, and embellies that coordinate so nicely together. Love Echo Park!

This layout is being entered in:
Rochelle Spears August Layered Embellishment ChallengeGranddiva's Creative Corners August Page Drafts. Items used for the layering challenge were chipboard (flags), metal (buttons), buttons, twine, and chipboard stickers (flag in the layers & subtitle.

Thanks for looking and have a great Friday!

Sweet Big Brother, Sketch Inspiration #331

Anyone else wonder how you can get something done speedy quick when there is a deadline and a time crunch? Deadlines, time limits, and procrastination are all things that motivate me to complete a LO here and there. I had one hour during naptime yesterday to throw this page together, based on the weekly sketch over at Sketch Inspiration. I am also entering this into Paper Secrets August Word Challenge: Sweet. SI is an awesome weekly sketch challenge site, and definitely worth more of my time. When the time fairy comes to visit me, this is one of the first on my list...Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

For some reason, I can't get this any bigger, so you might have to zoom in. Crate Paper Story Teller Legend, Chapeter, and Trademard were used for pp. The tag is a hidden journaling, with the additional journaling strips from MME Lime Twist line.  Thanks for looking, and as always, comments are appreciated.

Mojo Monday #250 Thinking of You Card

It seems like cards are the only thing I have time for these days, but in reality there really is time. It's just a matter of not getting interupted or distracted by the three little ones, tv shows, or a little bit or work on the computer. I did take some time out to create this card, and even replicated it two more times with a different sentiment each time.

Supplies: Crate Paper Story Teller Collection, brads from CTMH, ribbon CTMH, flowers from stash

Mojo Monday sketches are so fun and inspiring. Thanks for stopping by to look!
